About

Experience the life of a lab rat, or many depending on your performance, in this fun 2D platforming game with a 3D mechanic! Use depth of field to traverse a series of lab tests conducted by a passionate robot named Computa. Jump across gaps using elemental platforms, dodge rolling elemental balls and even break the internet as you try to discover the true intent behind Computa's lab tests!

How to play

KEYBOARD - The controls are relatively simple with the arrow keys controlling your character movement and ASD switching between the various elements. Spacebar is used for jumping, and the longer you press it, the higher you jump.

CONTROLLER - Upon opening the game, you are presented with a splash screen that says a controller is recommended for a better experience. I will have to agree that a controller did make the game feel a little easier, but that may be due to me being more used to playing with a controller. The PC players who prefer keyboard and mouse may feel the opposite.

The controller controls are pretty intuitive with the left thumbstick being for movement and the buttons used for jumping and the various elemetal effects.

All controls are shown in game on wall signs as you progress through the tests.

Objective

As a lab rat, your objective is to clear tests being given to you by Computa.

Final Thoughts

This game is pretty fun as well as challenging. I enjoyed the little easter eggs hidden throughout, such as the text on the consoles, the selections if you do not relax in the relax room long enough and more. The dialog from Computa is witty and keeps the players engaged and entertained throughout, which gives me a Portal vibe. The game is very short and can be completed within an hour, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. It keeps the game from feeling repetitive and allows you to work on setting a personal best by going through multiple times trying to use less and less rats each time.

All in all, I would say this game is worth checking out.

Pro Tips

- The longer the jump button is pressed, the higher you will jump

- Remember the buttons for each element, you only see the sign one time

- The arrow below your character indicates safety. Green is good, red is bad...

- You can switch to a different element while standing on an elemental platform
